Are you ready for the Digital Switchover?
In July 2011 Cyprus will switch off it's analogue broadcasting services and move over to the new digital channels.
If you have an old analogue TV you will no longer be able to view any programs.
All modern TV's have a built in digital tuner as well as analogue, so they will simply need retuning.
If you already have a digital TV then you may be able to tune in to the digital channels now as there are a number of transponders broadcasting here and the number will be constantly increasing as we approach the July switchover date.
Many people will tell you that your old TV aerial will have to be replaced with some fancy new device but in most cases this is simply not true, the majority of aerials can pick up the digital signals just as easy as the analogue ones, so don't be conned in to buying a new one unless the one you have is very very old.
What is important is the quality of the cable used and the correct installation of it, so no bits of wire twisted together and held with insulating tape ok !!
